Driver critical after crash near Swinton Police Station

A 23-year-old man is critically ill after two cars crashed outside a police station in Greater Manchester.

Police said a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a blue Renault Megane collided outside the station in Swinton on Chorley Road at about 03:40 BST.

The drivers of both cars were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and one of them remains critical.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
