A postmaster has suffered a head injury during an armed robbery in south Armagh on Wednesday morning.

The man was opening the post office in Drumintee when he was confronted by a masked man armed with a gun.

The victim was forced to kneel for 15 minutes while his assailant waited for a time-delayed lock on a safe to open.

Before fleeing with the contents of the safe, the raider pushed the postmaster, who hit his head on a metal bar.

It is the second time in six weeks the premises has been targeted.
