Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood is in the running to win best newcomer at the Sony Radio Academy Awards taking place in London.

His work for Absolute Radio also sees him up for the music personality prize, alongside fellow musician Jarvis Cocker and comedian Frank Skinner.

BBC Radio 1 DJs Chris Moyles and Scott Mills are also in contention.

Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire will compete for best news show, best speech broadcaster and best speech programme.

Radio 2's Chris Evans is shortlisted for the best breakfast show award, alongside 5 Live's breakfast duo Nicky Campbell and Shelagh Fogarty.

Absolute Radio's Christian O'Connell, TalkSport's Alan Brazil and LBC's Nick Ferrari are also nominated in this hotly contested category.

Skinner, like Derbyshire, has three nominations in all, with his other two nods coming in the best speech personality and best entertainment programme categories.

The Sony Radio Academy Awards are celebrating their 30th birthday this year.
