One person has died after a fire in a bungalow, in Aberdeen.

About 20 firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the flames at the property, on the city's Gillespie Crescent.

Personnel from Grampian Fire and Rescue Service remained at the scene and carried out a full search of the bungalow.

Details of the incident are still emerging, and the cause of the fire has yet to be established.

Fraser Burr, of Grampian Fire and Rescue, told the BBC: "On arrival, our crews were met with an established fire within the property.

"We immediately committed crews wearing breathing apparatus to search the property and to extinguish the fire and, as part of the search, they came across a confirmed fatality."
