Police are investigating a suspected armed robbery at a Waitrose supermarket in Cardiff.
Officers were called to the Pontprennau store earlier.
A woman, who was shopping at the supermarket at the time, said five men armed with guns attacked and robbed the man filling the cash machine.
She said: "They hit the man and then drove off. It was really quick. The next thing there was an ambulance and police everywhere."
The woman, who did not want to be named said the front of the store has been cordoned off and officers are still at the scene.
The woman continued: "I was in Waitrose this morning at about 11am. It was quite busy there.
"An announcement came over the tannoy 'Shut the shop! Shut the shop!'.
"Five men robbed the man filling the cash machine. They had guns.
"They hit the man and then drove off. It was really quick.
"The announcement came over and there was such a kerfuffle. They shut the doors because I think they were scared the men were going to come in.
"The next thing there was an ambulance and police were everywhere.
"There is still lots of police there and if you go up there you can see from the main road there is lots of police tape and CID there."
More to follow.
