Police investigating the death of a man at a nightclub where singer Jessie J was performing have released CCTV of a woman to they want to trace.

Father-of-two Phillip Sherriff, 37, from Preston, Lancashire, was attacked at the Pulse nightclub on London's Southbank on 4 April.

Ashley Charles, 25, of Leicester, has since been charged with murder.

Now police have released images of a woman who they think is a "vital witness" and asked her to come forward.

Det Ch Insp Cliff Lyons said: "On the night Mr Sherriff was assaulted the Pulse nightclub was hosting a party on behalf of BlackBerry, and we are aware that large numbers of people attending the event came from outside London.

"It is therefore possible the witness we are trying to identify lives elsewhere in the country.

"However, I would appeal for the woman or anyone who recognises her to contact the incident room."
