Partygoers wanting to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee festival by the Thames can now buy tickets.

Designer Wayne Hemingway has masterminded the event to celebrate music, food, fashion and art from the past 60 years, at Battersea Park.

It will feature a village green, a 1952 bandstand tea dance, outdoor cinema and a pop-up pub.

The festival, on the 3 June, takes place on the day of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

Visitors will be able to see the 1,000-strong flotilla carrying the Queen and other royals pass by.

Acts performing include 80s ska group The Selecter and the Noisettes.

Sounds from the past will be provided by all-female swing band The Bombshellettes along with other 40s and 50s big bands.

The event will also feature an exhibition of royal souvenirs including 100 royal teapots, a portrait of the Queen made out of balloons and a 1977 Silver Jubilee fizzy drink labelled Jubilade.

Mr Hemingway, co-curator of the festival, said: "We'll be creating a completely immersive environment, a timeline through the 60 years of our Queen's reign.

"This will be a proper knees-up with dancing and plenty of activities."
