Borders crash victim's parents 'united in grief'
Published: 14th Sep 2010 09:06:03
Police have identified a 22-year-old man from Lanarkshire killed in a crash in the Borders at the weekend.
Andrew McLean, of Carnwarth, died in the accident at about 1325 BST on Saturday on the A701 road near its junction with the A702.
His parents, Michelle Denny and John McLean, released a brief statement, saying they were "united in grief".
Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision between Mr McLean's Vauxhall Nova and a Peugeot 307.
Two people travelling in the other vehicle required hospital treatment in Edinburgh for injuries which were not life-threatening.
The road was closed for about five hours while investigations were carried out.
