Woman shaken after masked robbers burst into her home
Published: 5th Aug 2010 09:20:00
A TERRIFIED young woman was threatened with a gun when masked raiders burst into her Streetly home.
Four men raided her house on Centurian Drive at around 10.30pm. They assaulted her and demanded money before ransacking several rooms in the property. The men eventually left empty-handed.
The woman was left shaken and was taken to hospital for stitches to her head.
Walsall police now have detailed descriptions of three of the men, and have now issued an appeal to help investigations into the incident, which happened on July 6.
"This was clearly a targeted attack, but one in which the motive is unclear," said DC Joanna Harris from Force CID, who is investigating the incident.
"We want to identify these four men, and bring them to justice as soon as possible, and so anyone in the area who saw anything should get in touch with us as soon as you can.
"Equally if you know anything about these men, or who they are, please call us."
The first offender is described as a black male, approximately five feet 11 inches tall, between 20 and 25 years-old, slim athletic build, wearing a grey hooded top and a balaclava.
An accomplice was also a black male, slim build, shorter than the first male, wearing a balaclava and a hooded top.
A third member of the gang is described as a white male, approximately five feet six inches tall, aged between 20 and 25 years-old, wearing a black balaclava.
Officers say they think the gang made off in a black car, which had been parked on the driveway of the house.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Force CID at Bloxwich police station on 0345 113 5000.
Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
