A 23-year-old man has been treated for a serious facial injury after being bitten in an attack outside a nightclub in Glasgow city centre.

Police said the man was standing near the front door of the Reflex bar on Renfield Street when he was approached by a man and a woman.

Det Insp Fil Capaldi described it as a "vicious and savage assault".

The officer said it was possible the attackers entered the bar after the assault at 2345 BST on Saturday.

Det Insp Capaldi appealed for witnesses to contact the police.

The male suspect was said to be about 25 to 30, about 6ft 1in, of slim build and with a shaven head.

He was described as having a gaunt appearance, with facial stubble and was wearing a white t-shirt.

The woman was 20 to 30 years old, about 5ft 5in, with very long, brown, highlighted hair.
