Two armed robbers have raided a betting shop in Surrey.

Police said the men were armed with a hammer and a suspected firearm when they forced into a branch of Ladbrokes in Thames Ditton on Monday evening.

Officers said the pair broke a side door in the shop and smashed a glass screen to get behind the front counter.

They threatened the two members of staff, who suffered minor injuries, before making off with a quantity of cash.

Police have not revealed how much cash was stolen.

Det Con Steph Best said the armed robbery was clearly a planned and organised offence by two determined individuals who were prepared to take risks.

"These cowardly offenders put two innocent members of staff through a terrifying ordeal," she added.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the robbery in Weston Green Road, between 1930 BST and 1945 BST.
