Published: 24th Mar 2010 15:56:30
A 21-year-old man has been charged with murdering a one-year-old girl in Hull.
Police were alerted about the death by Hull Royal Infirmary on Monday. A post-mortem examination revealed the baby died from internal injuries.
The man is due to appear at Hull magistrates on Thursday. A 24-year-old woman has been released on bail.
In a statement released through police, the girl's biological father said: "This is clearly a traumatic time for me and both families."
A Humberside Police spokesman said specialist liaison officers were supporting the child's family.
