Family pay tribute to murdered Bury man Brian Gavigan
Published: 5th Sep 2011 18:18:25
The family of a man murdered at a house in Greater Manchester have paid tribute to a "loving father".
Brian Gavigan, 48, was found with cuts to his neck at an address on Merton Road, Bury, at 04:30 BST on Sunday.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
In a statement, Mr Gavigan's family said: "Brian should not have died in these circumstances and he will be greatly missed."
They added: "Brian was a loving father to his children and, albeit he had his problems, his family always came first.
"His untimely death will leave a big hole in the hearts of all his family and friends."
A post-mortem examination concluded Mr Gavigan died from multiple injuries to his head and body.
