Rescue after man falls off Midland Bridge in Bath
Published: 19th Aug 2011 08:40:08
A man has been rescued by the fire service after falling from a bridge in Bath.
The man, in his 20s, fell from Midland Bridge in the city centre at about 21:40 BST on Thursday.
Two fire crews and a boat were launched to rescue him after he landed on a concrete platform and was unable to climb back onto the road.
He was taken to hospital to be checked over, but was not seriously injured, the fire service said.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service said it had made several rescues in the past year after people had fallen from bridges in the city.
It urged revellers to ensure "river water is not your last drink" in the lead up to the bank holiday weekend.
