Police are trying to identify a woman found unconscious in a Clydebank street.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Old Street at about 06.20 and found the woman lying on the pavement.

She did not appear to be injured and had no handbag or purse with her. She was taken to the Glasgow's Western Infirmary.

Strathclyde Police appealed for information from anyone who may know who the woman is.

Officers said she is aged between her late 40s and early 50s, is about 5ft 6in tall and of medium to stocky build, with straight brown or auburn shoulder-length hair.

When found she was wearing a purple Hi Gear waterproof jacket, a blue and white blouse with black leggings and black shoes.
