Third teenager arrested over Eastbourne man's death
Published: 18th Aug 2012 17:29:30
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a man died following an attack by a group of teenagers in Eastbourne.
Chris Poole, 46, was kicked and punched in The Hydneye on Thursday night and died in hospital on Friday.
His partner, Penny said: "I'm devastated by the loss of a best friend and my soulmate."
A local boy, 13, arrested earlier on Friday, and a man aged 19 remain in custody. All three are being held on suspicion of murder.
Mr Poole of Iden Street, Eastbourne suffered serious head injuries in the attack and did not regain consciousness after being taken to hospital, Sussex Police said.
His mother, Diane, said: "Chris was a great and loving son, brother to devastated Rick, lover of wild birds and animals and a friend to anyone.
"Chris attended Ratton School with Rick and was an excellent gymnast and always kept himself fit."
Mr Poole's partner has two children, who he considered as his own, Sussex Police said.
A post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Sunday.
