Hundreds expected to watch Olympic closing ceremony
Published: 12th Aug 2012 11:04:30
Hundreds are expected to watch the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games at Belfast City Hall later.
The ceremony, which is estimated to be viewed by four billion people throughout the world, will be broadcast live on the Big Screen at 21:00 BST.
There will also be Brazilian-themed entertainment on offer.
This will include carnival drummers to celebrate London's handover to Rio De Janeiro for the 2016 Games.
The closing ceremony, titled 'A Symphony of British Music', will celebrate British music over the last 50 years.
Lord Mayor of Belfast Gavin Robinson said he was looking forward to the event.
"The grounds of City Hall will come alive with music, fire performers, carnival drummers, Brazilian dancers and acrobats and I would encourage everyone to come down to join in the fun and share in the excitement," he said.
Belfast will then look forward to the arrival of the Paralympic Flame on 25 August.
