Man held after Pc's eye gouged in Coventry
Published: 10th Aug 2012 21:02:08
A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a police officer had his eye gouged and was bitten.
Police said the off-duty officer was attacked last month when he challenged a man loitering outside a house in Abbey Road, Coventry.
The Pc was bitten on the chest, his eye gouged and threatened with a large rock taken from a garden display, the spokesman added.
A man was arrested on suspicion of wounding on Thursday in Coventry.
The officer was off work for several days but has since returned to work.
