Birmingham taxi stabbing: Man appears in court

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a mother-of-three who died when she was stabbed in a taxi in Birmingham.

Natasha Trevis, 22, from Weoley Castle, died shortly before 08:00 BST on Tuesday in the city's Northfield area. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Junior Saleem Oakes is accused of stabbing Miss Trevis and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.

Relatives of the victim were in the public gallery when he appeared.
