Bo'ness woodyard fire tackled
Published: 9th Aug 2012 07:45:31
Firefighters have spent the night tackling a major fire at a woodyard.
Crews were called to the Alexander Anderson Woodyard on Haney's Way in Bo'ness, near Falkirk, at 22:40 on Wednesday.
On arrival, they found a large quantity of compacted sawdust well alight.
The blaze has now been extinguised but firefighters will remain at the scene for some time. It is not yet known what caused the fire, and investigations are under way.
At the height of incident, 40 firefighters and six appliances were at the scene.
The road at Grangepans is expected to be closed all day on Thursday between its junctions with Cowdenhill Road and Philpingstone Road. Local diversions are in place.
