Man injured while walking in Mournes rescued

A man has been rescued after injuring himself while walking in the Mourne Mountains near Newcastle.
He suffered serious leg injuries while out walking on Slieve Meelbeg, on Saturday.
The PSNI police search and rescue team were assisted by the Mourne Rescue Team, Irish coastguard and the Ambulance Service to locate and bring the man to safety.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
