Bristol missile throwing inquiry: Photos released
Published: 1st Aug 2012 17:18:46
Police investigating missiles thrown during a day of marches in Bristol have released photographs of seven men they want to speak to.
The missiles were thrown on 14 July when the English Defence League (EDL) and counter protesters held demonstrations in the city.
Det Ch Insp Gareth Bevan said: "Our inquiries have led us to seven men who we believe have information which can help us progress our investigation."
He appealed for them to come forward.
Sixteen people were arrested on the day for offences including going equipped to cause damage and assaulting a police officer.
An investigation was also launched to identify other offences committed and the people responsible.
Det Ch Insp Bevan said: "These demonstrations were largely peaceful but there were a small number of people prepared to commit crime and spoil the event for everyone else taking part.
"We are committed to ensuring that all those who committed crime are brought to justice and face the consequences of their behaviour."
Anyone who recognises the men is asked to contact the police.
