Published: 29th Jul 2012 11:12:17
Two swimmers from Northern Ireland are taking part in the Olympic Games on Sunday, both representing Team Ireland.
Melanie Nocher, from Holywood in County Down, came third in her heat of the 100m back stroke but missed out in a place in the semi-finals.
She will now concentrate on preparing for her strongest event, the 200m back stroke heats, later this week.
Sycerika McMahon, from Portaferry, finished eighth in the 100m breast stroke on Sunday. Her time was 1.08.80.
She was 0.53 seconds off the time she swam to qualify for the games.
