Newport water supply hit after contractors damage pipes
Published: 27th Jul 2012 20:29:50
A water supply warning has been issued in Newport city centre after contractors damaged pipes.
Welsh Water sent an engineering team to repair the burst water mains at Hill Street on Friday afternoon.
Customers were told that they may have low water pressure, or no water supply at all.
The company said the supply should be back during the evening but some discolouration may occur which should clear within a short period.
A spokesperson apologised for the inconvenience and said everything was being done to restore normal service as quickly as possible.
Anyone with concerns about their water supply can call Welsh Water's operational helpline on 0800 0520130.
