A security alert is continuing in Dervock in north Antrim after the discovery of two suspicious packages.

A number of homes have been been evacuated after the packages were found at Castlewood Park and McArthur Avenue in the village.

Meanwhile an alert at Belfast City Hall has been declared a hoax.

Part of the the building had been evacuated following the discovery of a suspect package. It was addressed to the council, not any individual.

It understood the package was found in the post room after what the council said was a routine scan.

Army bomb disposal experts were called at 11:00 BST and after examining the package they declared it a hoax.
