'Human head' found in Montreal park
Published: 2nd Jul 2012 18:20:29
Police in Montreal say human remains found in a park may be from a Chinese student allegedly killed by the so-called Canadian psycho.
Police told local media that the body part had been sent for testing, and it appeared to be a head.
Luka Magnotta, 29, denied last month killing Jun Lin, whose body parts were posted to political offices in Ottawa and schools in Vancouver.
The 33-year-old's torso was found in Montreal, but his head was missing.
Montreal police said they discovered the remains at Angrignon Park in south-west Montreal on Sunday, after a tip-off.
"We have to wait for analysis over the next days, the next week, to confirm whether it is a body part and whether it's related to... the Magnotta case," said Constable Annie Lemieux, reports the Globe and Mail newspaper.
Lin's family held a private memorial for him last week in Montreal.
Luka Magnotta was arrested in Germany last month.
