Wrong way motorway driver killed on M4
Published: 2nd Jul 2012 10:23:06
A man in his 80s has died in a car crash after driving the wrong way along the M4 on the Severn Bridge.
Police said the 83-year-old turned his car around just before the toll booths on the westbound carriageway, and headed back towards Bristol.
It happened at about 23:00 BST on Sunday when the man's Toyota Corolla collided with a Citroën C2 and a Jaguar, between junctions 21 and 22.
Police said the other drivers were not seriously hurt.
A police investigation has been launched and officers say they want any witnesses to the accident to get in touch.
