Man arrested after serious assault in Inverness

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in relation to serious assault in Inverness.
The incident is believed to have taken place in the Merkinch area of the city at about 01:00 on Thursday.
A report is being submitted to the procurator fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Saturday.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, was taken to Raigmore Hospital after the incident.
