'Masked' youths attack 18-year-old man in Plaistow

An 18-year-old man was attacked by a group of youths and stabbed repeatedly in east London, police have said.

The teenager was approached by a group of 11 men as he left Plaistow station on Monday night. He was attacked in Libra Road following an altercation.

He was stabbed in the stomach, lower back and arm and hit over the head with a small axe. His injuries are not life-threatening but he remains in hospital.

The suspects, aged about 17, covered their faces with bandanas, police said.

Following the attack the suspects fled in the direction of Pelly Road, with four of them on mountain bikes.

The victim is in a stable condition but his injuries could be potentially life changing, officers said.

No arrests have been made.
