Jury goes out in strangling trial
Published: 22nd Jan 2010 14:19:54
The jury has gone out in the murder trial of a 50-year-old doorman who strangled his former girlfriend after she ended their two-year relationship.
Phillip Packer, from Porthcawl, drove the body of Jenna Thomas, 21, to the local police station.
The court has heard they met when they both worked at a club in Porthcawl.
The judge has told the jury they must put aside all feelings of sympathy in deciding whether Philip Packer was guilty of murder or manslaughter.
The trial has heard claims he did not mean to kill her.
The prosecution allege he killed her after she met someone else and "would not accept the finality of the break-up".
